José Pitti teamed up with civil rights attorney Lauren Skompinski to call attention to the administration’s use of the Alien Terrorist Removal Court for the very first time in that court’s 30 year history. Published on The Steady State’s Substack, the article leans on José and Lauren’s immigration law and civil rights expertise to highlight the surprisingly broad application of the terrorism definition under Immigration & National Act § 212(a)(3)(B) and (F), pose questions about the timing of this first-ever use of the ATRC, and raise due process and other Constitutional civil rights concerns that merit additional scrutiny as this case develops.
